The PIC Harbour Classic is back for 2026 with new dates - 20–22 March.
You might remember we originally planned the event for late February, but this year Auckland’s waterfront calendar is a little different. With SailGP running later, the Auckland Boat Show build can’t be completed in time for our original weekend at the end of February .
"The event has quickly become a highlight of the summer sailing calendar, doubling participant numbers year on year and attracting everyone from competitive sailors to cruisers and newcomers eager to experience this style of event," says Commodore Adrian Percival. "We're thrilled to welcome sailors and spectators for another fantastic weekend - albeit a few weeks later. It's definitely an exciting and busy time on Auckland's waterfront."
You'll still be able to moor within the downtown precinct, making it ideal for out-of-town visitors looking to enjoy a weekend in the heart of Auckland.
As the event takes place a week after the Wooden Boat Festival, the mooring layout may differ slightly from previous years, so we are encouraging early bookings when registering to secure your spot.
After prizegiving, the popular on-board afterparty returns with entertainment and that unbeatable Harbour Classic atmosphere. While Six60 won’t be performing this year, the fun, camaraderie and celebration will be as strong as ever.
The PIC Harbour Classic is open to all, keeping our mission alive: making sailing accessible, celebrating Auckland’s maritime heritage, and creating an unforgettable weekend on the water.
Mark your calendars — 20–22 March 2026. Entires open mid January.
